Sozni Embroidery
A Kashmiri hand embroidery technique worked from the wrong side of the fabric using a hooked needle. Extremely fine needlework applied to an already-woven shawl. Often combined with Kani weaving — Kani body, Sozni border — to create pieces using two distinct Kashmiri artisan techniques in one shawl.
MOQ (Minimum Order Quantity)
The smallest quantity produced per design. Our MOQ for Kani shawls starts at 100 pieces per design. This is because each Kani pattern requires setting up the loom and preparing the talim notation — a process that only makes economic sense at volume. Custom OEM patterns follow the same 100-piece minimum.
Changthangi Pashmina
Ultra-fine fiber (12-16 microns) from the Changthangi goat of Ladakh and the Himalayan plateau. The finest natural fiber used in authentic Kani shawls. Hand-combed from the undercoat in spring. The micron count determines softness — 12 micron is the finest grade commercially available.
FOB Pricing
Free On Board — price includes manufacturing and loading at the Indian port. You arrange international freight. Better for buyers with preferred freight partners or agents who manage their own logistics. Lower per-unit cost than CIF.
CIF Pricing
Cost, Insurance, Freight — we arrange and pay for shipping to your destination port. Simpler for first-time importers or buyers without freight relationships. Total landed cost is higher than FOB but requires less logistics management on your end.
Private Label / OEM
Manufacturing Kani shawls under your brand name, with your labels, packaging, and identity. No reference to Savita Shawls on the product. Full design confidentiality. Exclusive patterns developed for your brand are protected and not supplied to other buyers.
