Zari is a metallic thread, traditionally gold or silver toned, woven into the fabric to create a decorative border. On this stole it runs along all four edges rather than a plain woven or embroidered border.
Most bordered shawls carry the pattern only on the two short ends. This stole carries the zari border along all four edges, which takes more production time and gives a fully framed look when the piece is folded or displayed flat.
The blend is 45% fine wool, 30% zari, and 25% Tencel. Tencel is included to keep the stole soft and drapable despite the metallic zari thread, which can otherwise make a fabric feel stiffer than a plain wool weave.
The MOQ is 50 pieces per colorway, higher than our plain natural border shawls due to the added zari border work, but lower than our high volume Modal range.
Standard lead time is 3 to 4 weeks from order confirmation and advance payment. A custom base color with the same zari border may need additional time for dye and border matching.
Yes, the same four side zari border can be produced on other base colors, and we can discuss applying it to a different weight or fabric base on request.
